One of the best ways to express your individuality and creativity is through a stunning Italian charm bracelet adorned with trinkets of gold, silver or glass beads. These fun accessories have long been a fashion classic, but today, charm bracelets are bigger, bulkier and more beautiful than ever.
Charm bracelets have truly stood the test of time, first appearing during ancient Egyptian times as a status symbol. During Roman times, charm bracelets were considered religious artifacts. Since then, they’ve represented everything from royalty and family origin to profession and political position. Charm bracelets made their way to America as WWII soldiers returned bearing gifts of their travels for their sweethearts. Over the past few decades, these mementos and their charms have continued to be popular gifts for special events such as birthdays, graduations and mother’s day. More recently, exaggerated designs and oversize charms have made these bracelets all the rage on the style circuit.
Modern charm bracelets are getting bigger and bolder than ever. With upscale fashion designer houses and popular retailers pushing the envelope, these bracelets are no longer the dainty and delicate trinkets they once were. Although classic charms will never go out of style, the look of the moment is a heavier chain link with clusters of charms, beads and baubles. These bracelets are as versatile as a watch, and can easily be included in an everyday look.
To create your own style, you can design and add charms to your bracelet which represent your overall fashion sense and interests. With a variety of charms to choose from, it’s easy to mix and match depending on your outfit or mood. As recent trends dictate, bulky bracelets can be worn in multiples or with other bracelets, for a bold and noticeable look. The most important thing to remember is that your jewelry and your charm bracelet should be an expression and an extension of your personality.

Every year, we’re given just one day to show our admiration, love and appreciation to the women who matter most in our lives, our moms. This Mother’s Day, why not give a gift that she’ll absolutely love? Whether it’s for your biological mother, step-mother, mother-in-law or grandmother, every woman likes to unwrap the gift of jewelry.
Even though times are tough, you can still afford to give your mom a beautiful gift. Sterling silver necklaces are a hot choice this year, with many style options to suit her taste. Silver is not only affordable, it’s also a classic wardrobe staple that she’ll wear forever.
If you’ve decided to get your mother a necklace, etched lockets are always a winner. Add a favorite picture inside for a personal touch that will keep fond memories close to her heart. Another hot seller is a sterling silver pendant. Hearts and crosses top the list and can be adorned with precious stones or CZ. Pendants can be worn casually, on a day-to-day basis or on special occasions. For something a little less traditional, try a starfish or floral pendant.
A modern option for the fashion forward mom is the lariat necklace. This look is both delicate and interesting. There are no clasps to worry about here, as the chain runs lightly through itself, dangling beautifully around the neck. The lariat necklace looks great with a matching earring set and adds a fun and interesting twist to any outfit.
Engraved necklaces are always a hit with moms, as they add a personal touch to her special day. You can choose to engrave an initial, a full name or a symbol onto a tag necklace. Ask other family members to chip in, and give her a jewelry set complete with necklace and matching bracelet.
It’s sure that no matter what type of jewelry you give to your mom, she will absolutely love the thought you put into her stylish gift.

If you know someone that likes elephants then what better gift could you give them than a elephant necklace. Made out of sterling silver your elephant lover will really appreciate the time and care that has gone into making this quality piece of silver jewellery.
Silver has been known since ancient times and has long been valued as a precious metal, used to make ornaments, jewellery, high-value tableware and utensils and currency coins. Mined right back in 4000BC in Turkey which was then called Anatolia, the main source of silver now is from Peru and Mexico. To the Egyptians, gold was considered to be the perfect metal, and gave the symbol of a circle to it. Since silver was the next best to gold in terms of perfection, it was given a semi-circle for it’s symbol. This semi-circle later changed through time and led to a moon symbol, due to the similarity between the shining metal being like the glowing moon light. The Romans gave silver the name of argentum, which is still used today as the international name of the element, from where its chemical symbol of Ag comes from.
Commercial-grade fine silver is at least 99.9% pure silver, and purities greater than 99.999% are available. In silver jewellery a purity of 92.5% is used as above this and the silver jewellery becomes too soft and would not withstand everyday wear. This is where the term 925 silver comes from representing 925 parts silver out of 1000 with the other 7.5% traditionally made from copper. Silver is also mixed with gold to make white gold and is recently becoming more popular.
